It's going to happen.

Even though women have been stabbed in the back. America will have the first step to a decent and humanitarian health care system. 32,000,000 more Americans covered. 23,000,000 living in the US uncovered, of whom 1/3 will be illegal, leaving, if my math is correct, 14,000,000+ citizens uncovered. A good start.

As I read the compromise Executive order, I got the sense that is was a way for the Stupak crowd to vote for the bill without losing face. It was just a statement reasserting and existing law. Did I read it wrong? Was there some additional changes to women's reproductive health choices in there?

What do you think of the language of the Executive order? When I read it, I took it to mean that the executive order was saying that the current legislation is in line with the existing Hyde language. I don't think it codifies the Hyde amendment or makes the declaration of no federal funding for abortion permenant.

I followed all this every day from my hospital bed. I even chided a blood tehnician (drawing my blood at the time for criticizing Joe Biden a day or so later when he leaned over and made that infamous f**king big deal comment. I noted that not only was it a big f**king deal, his comment was not made on the floor out loud but in private for the Prez's ear only. I'm getting so mouthy for a southern broad who was brought up to be nice! :)
